Serenity Now

That ‘vortex of negativity’ I always talk about avoiding? Well somehow it got hold of me and I am currently fighting my way back, I’m not completely consumed…I’m stuck at the entrance but it’s incredibly strong and I’m giving it all I can to get out.

What happened? The world and everything bad happened to find a crack through my armor and began to seep in.

Somehow…someway…violence towards others, hatred, lawlessness….they all have found an accepting place in our society…where in my world…none of that is now or will ever be acceptable.

I’m not talking about isolated pockets. I am talking about large masses.

I think we have lost the positive message. It’s been stolen away by the savagery of that violence, hatred, and lawlessness

Normally I see it coming…the storm cloud…but I didn’t see this one…and to be honest…I am worried for us all…

Praying things get better. Yes…I’ve turned to prayer a long time ago.

Violence and hatred never solves anything.

You can beat a man into submission but that will never change what’s in his mind.

Prayer…

I’m praying this settles down…

Maybe you can join me in prayers….

LIFE IS TOO SERIOUS TO BE TOO SERIOUS!

Live…Laugh…Love…

Parenthood

Parenthood isn’t easy. Watching these three yesterday made me think of the responsibility we as parents have to our children. Not an easy task being someone’s parent, that is, when you are fully in. It takes a ton of sacrifice, patients, understanding…it’s never ending and yet simultaneously, it is possibly the most rewarding thing I have ever done and continue to do.

This doe is drained: nutritionally caring for these two fawns has taken its toll on her, but she will rebound. As I lay here on the couch this morning staring out of the glass then back at these pics I am reminded at how blessed I am to be the father of two. A tough job, absolutely, even tougher to do it right. And then you hope and pray they become good people. I am blessed that mine are indeed good people, kind people, caring individuals, a great feeling to have as I lay here on Fathers Day and understand I have indeed been blessed with becoming a dad. Happy Parents Day, Happy Fathers Day! Have a great day!

Disconnecting to Connect

Disconnecting to connect today. I do it often. I need to do it often! Too much anger and hatred happening in the world these days. I shut off the TV, very little personal social media, not watching the videos, not getting sucked into the vortex of negativity…I know what’s happening on the streets…I’m out there on the streets often…I see everything…I’m not ignoring what’s real…I know exactly what’s up… and the only way it’s going to change is if we stop the hate and respect each other…and we need to pray on it as well!

Cat Daddy

We have a ritual every morning, the cats and I. I wake up, they do as well, I go to the bathroom, they do as well, I go into the living room, they do as well, they wrestle, then eventually I do as well, we all crash out together… this is everyday…and I’m not complaining one bit. Love these critters!

Into the Sun

ocean (3)

The title to the third book I wrote, ‘Into the Sun’, utilizes a scene like the one above for an important message within.

I’ve always been obsessed with the sea, from as young as I can remember, sitting on the beach, staring outward, wondering if I could walk straight across, where would I be?

This shot was taken at Nags Head, NC, USA, simultaneously while I was writing that book. It’s actually where I wrote most of it, sitting on the beach, staring at the ocean.

Subtle sounds of the waves slapping the shore, the distant sounds of seabirds, the smell of the sea…warm breeze in my face…kids playing off in the distance, collecting shells, building sandcastles…

I had this crazy misconception that I had to get an agent, do it that way or else it doesn’t count.

I guess I should have self published…it’s never too late for that!

Heck of a Show…

Heck of a show in the sky every night on my balcony…always the same channel…

Very thankful to be mindful enough to be thankful for everything…if that makes any sense…

Have a great night!

3 am…An Incredible View!

I have been getting up early for the last week. My cat wants to hang out with me at three am, like clockwork.

He’s a rescue, one of two, definitely a unique personality, but we love them both.

I remember getting up, petting him, grabbing my camera and heading out to the balcony and shooting skyward…

Checking the shots the next morning…I was rewarded with this one…I thanked the cat!

Photography to me is an incredible tool for stress relief, a form of therapy if you will, I go out and concentrate on finding a subject to photograph and then talk about and share.

Thank you for stopping by. Check out the podcast if you would. Have a great day!
