Sometimes we feel awkward introducing ourselves to complete strangers, but when I saw this man sitting on the lawn in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, PA, I knew he was holding a story to be told, and I was really hoping he’d tell me all about it.
‘I AM UNBREAKABLE”
We met as strangers and left as friends and not only friends, but with a deeper understanding of each other, not only as people, but also where we come from, both intellectually, morally, and most importantly, as fellow humans.
A great conversation with a great human being!
Thank you my friend, for sharing your story with us!
Join me as I engage in a very interesting conversation with a complete stranger on the front lawn of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pa, USA, as he shares his story of enduring racism, police brutality, and problems within the judicial system.
We then move to topics like humanity, Black Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, Blue Lives Matter, understanding we are all individuals with dissimilar narratives and backgrounds and that’s ok, opening ones mind, and having respect for all human beings…and after all of this…we depart as friends and hopefully have a better understanding of each other.
Monday/Tuesday targeted drop day for this episode!
Parenthood isn’t easy. Watching these three yesterday made me think of the responsibility we as parents have to our children. Not an easy task being someone’s parent, that is, when you are fully in. It takes a ton of sacrifice, patients, understanding…it’s never ending and yet simultaneously, it is possibly the most rewarding thing I have ever done and continue to do.
This doe is drained: nutritionally caring for these two fawns has taken its toll on her, but she will rebound. As I lay here on the couch this morning staring out of the glass then back at these pics I am reminded at how blessed I am to be the father of two. A tough job, absolutely, even tougher to do it right. And then you hope and pray they become good people. I am blessed that mine are indeed good people, kind people, caring individuals, a great feeling to have as I lay here on Fathers Day and understand I have indeed been blessed with becoming a dad. Happy Parents Day, Happy Fathers Day! Have a great day!
Disconnecting to connect today. I do it often. I need to do it often! Too much anger and hatred happening in the world these days. I shut off the TV, very little personal social media, not watching the videos, not getting sucked into the vortex of negativity…I know what’s happening on the streets…I’m out there on the streets often…I see everything…I’m not ignoring what’s real…I know exactly what’s up… and the only way it’s going to change is if we stop the hate and respect each other…and we need to pray on it as well!
We have a ritual every morning, the cats and I. I wake up, they do as well, I go to the bathroom, they do as well, I go into the living room, they do as well, they wrestle, then eventually I do as well, we all crash out together… this is everyday…and I’m not complaining one bit. Love these critters!
