Merry Christmas/Great Weekend

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas or simply a great weekend if you don’t celebrate Christmas, either way, hope all is going well with you all.

My thing to do since I was a young kid…get up before everyone else, turn on the tree lights, kick back and appreciate it all, give thanks for the people in my life, past and present, and remember the ones that are no longer here…

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

Last Week In Pictures

Indian food at a local restaurant. It was nice to get out and be with the family. Covid is going ballistic in our area, reminiscent of the first outbreak, everyone is on edge, then there’s Christmas in a few days…just more reasons to appreciate what we have in life and enjoy each day…
Honestly, I don’t remember what they were called… Tandoori Wings sound right? They were really good!
This was the first time I had the whole family in my new ride. They’ve been busting on me a little bit because I’m so into my new ‘old’ Volvo, but I’m telling you it’s a thing! There is a cult following with these cars. They are built like tanks, run incredible, but after so many years small things might need fixing…and you better have some mechanical know how…
Then the family asked me if I actually checked the car over before I bought it…because…’you might be missing a few parts’ was mentioned from the back seats! We busted up laughing that seat belt buckles could be missing…I actually think they are folded beneath the seat so I’ll have to investigate! Stay tuned!

‘Jules Thin Crust Pizza’ once again. Locally sourced ingredients, organic, that’s some fresh and healthy pizza right there! We were up on the Main Line, Rt 30, and stopped by!
Turning my head to the left this is my first view each morning. As frustrated and pissed off of having this broken foot and being stationary with no driving and non-weight bearing with it, my patients are being tested each day with that, and simultaneously I really try to stay mindful that so many people have it much worse. So I await for this moment each day and give thanks for another chance to do life better than I did it yesterday…not always easy but I try…

I will put a short podcast episode up either today or tomorrow, just a quick hello to you all. Thanks for being here. Have a great day!

What A Long Strange Week It’s Been…

Last nights sunset as we contemplated the news of the death of a very close friend…

Fire in the sky…a beautiful sunset to remind us of a beautiful person…

Last Week In Pictures

Who doesn’t like beef jerky’s? I prefer the beef Teriyaki Jack Links, personally. If they sold it in a five pound box, that would be perfect!
This bulb right here…I hate this bulb. My mongo sized hands do not readily fit into the small opening one must use to remove said bulb. But I managed… albeit with much pain and effort.
Hanging with my High School friends doing what we’ve been doing for many decades. I get a front row seat nowadays but still, I add my three cents whenever expert opinions are needed! 😂
‘Ashers’ chocolate and toffee covered pretzels! Just saying, these things are incredible!
Volvo Low Beam light…I hate this light as well…access area made for Keebler Elves. Virtually impossible for man-hands to access. I also dislike this bulb very much!
Really bad crash stopping up traffic. This van is roughly twenty yards and in an oncoming traffic lane from the point of impact where it landed.

News helicopters overhead, news van on side of the road. Prayers to all those involved.

STP….Stone Temple Pilots? Nah, just a logo I was exposed to my entire life. I really like this logo. I can’t explain it. It’s just cool to me and reminds me of simpler times..,
A quiet moment of disconnect…
Dude…making like a desert nomad! Lawrence of Arabia perhaps? 😂
Coolest cat I’ve ever encountered!
Jules Thin Crust pizza…Rt 30 in Wayne, Pennsylvania. This is butternut squash with caramelized onions, apples, ricotta, mozzarella cheese! A seasonal offering but one I don’t miss this time of year!!

Beach Sunrise Hello

4 minute message

Gifted Another Day!

I awoke this morning and for that I am very grateful! I’m thinking you are thinking the same? Great to be here, just want to say hello.

The question I am asking this week on Finding Subjects Podcast is…

Who would you like to be stuck in an elevator with and who would you not want to be stuck with, why, and what would you want to discuss with them?

The person you choose can be anyone, dead or alive.

I only use first names in the replies when I read them.

Please type your replies below.

If you wish…you can get the app, favorite Finding Subjects Podcast…then leave me a voice message and I will add that to the show.

Thank you in advance for participating!

Have A Great Day

Watching the sun come up this morning and I just wanted to say hello to you and to have a nice day!

It’s a quick five minute message!!

The Silence Of The Night

Up all night…sleep all day?

Tried to sleep but decided instead to make a quick podcast and say hello to you all!

When the sun came up I took a walk in the front yard, leaves are falling all around, temperatures beginning to feel fall-like, feeling good, feeling motivated, feeling inspired.

The Serenity Now

Pelican Bay, Jackson Lake, Grand Tetons, Wyoming…

Going through some more photographs of our recent trip I came across this one.

My wife walked up to the pizza place we couldn’t find all week. Seems we drove past the sign numerous times and each time missed, and suddenly there is was, here at Pelican Bay on Jackson Lake.

And as she walked over to pick up our order, I walked down to the waters edge. Honestly I could have stayed here for a long time.

‘Serenity Now’ I kept thinking in my head, the Season 9, episode 3 show from Seinfeld where Georges dad keeps saying ‘serenity now, serenity now…’ is hilarious.

But this scene…I felt like I was staring at a painting.

It’s moments like this I talk about often on the podcast, being mindful of the moment, taking time to live in the present and appreciate the little things…like this serene scene…

Yesterday I took a walk into the woods along a trail I sometimes go to. It was quiet, nothing but insects chirping, birds tweeting, the sound of water trickling off in the distance, leaves falling…it was a great disconnect.

Yesterday’s walk in the state of Delaware, USA

And suddenly a thought came upon me as I stood there for a moment, a memory of a podcast some months back, ‘Is God Real’ and then the follow up episode ‘God Is Real’ and how I stated that in everything I see around me, God is present…and how with so much going on in the world it is incredibly hard to even think of God being present in such turmoil, such negativity surrounding us all.

Wyoming and Montana are beautiful places as is Idaho. I remember a few instances of taking early morning walks with my camera as my wife slept, heading into the woods and thinking about the large omnivores that live there; Grizzly bears, Black bears…and yet I still walked…and I reminded myself I had no bear spray and what I was doing could be considered reckless, and simultaneously I felt very alive, in the moment, mindful of the situation.

Early morning walk, Yellowstone, Wyoming

Disconnececting to connect is something I used to do often, and sort of got away from it with the advent of Covid and everything crazy that accompanied that, this time, people stressed.

These situations are not over. Not certain if they ever will be. But I think now more than ever it’s important we have some private time to ourselves just to recharge, be it on a park bench, practicing photography, exercising, walking in the woods as I am currently now doing, or just sitting on the banks of a lake and staring at serenity before us, as I did in the photograph above.

Serenity now…Serenity now…

Have a great day!

Episode 132 is now available. You can listen on this website or wherever you listen to podcasts.

Thank you for being here, and have a great day!
