Sometimes we feel awkward introducing ourselves to complete strangers, but when I saw this man sitting on the lawn in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, PA, I knew he was holding a story to be told, and I was really hoping he’d tell me all about it.

We met as strangers and left as friends and not only friends, but with a deeper understanding of each other, not only as people, but also where we come from, both intellectually, morally, and most importantly, as fellow humans.

Into the Sun

The title to the third book I wrote, ‘Into the Sun’, utilizes a scene like the one above for an important message within.

I’ve always been obsessed with the sea, from as young as I can remember, sitting on the beach, staring outward, wondering if I could walk straight across, where would I be?

This shot was taken at Nags Head, NC, USA, simultaneously while I was writing that book. It’s actually where I wrote most of it, sitting on the beach, staring at the ocean.

Subtle sounds of the waves slapping the shore, the distant sounds of seabirds, the smell of the sea…warm breeze in my face…kids playing off in the distance, collecting shells, building sandcastles…

I had this crazy misconception that I had to get an agent, do it that way or else it doesn’t count.

I guess I should have self published…it’s never too late for that!

3 am…An Incredible View!

I have been getting up early for the last week. My cat wants to hang out with me at three am, like clockwork.

He’s a rescue, one of two, definitely a unique personality, but we love them both.

I remember getting up, petting him, grabbing my camera and heading out to the balcony and shooting skyward…

Checking the shots the next morning…I was rewarded with this one…I thanked the cat!

Photography to me is an incredible tool for stress relief, a form of therapy if you will, I go out and concentrate on finding a subject to photograph and then talk about and share.

Mindfulness Meditation is the act of bringing your thoughts into the present moment, being in the ‘now’ and quieting those racing thoughts we all have running through our minds.

I do my own type of Mindfulness Meditation by going out with my camera and focus on searching for then finding subjects to occupy my mind at that moment, on that specific subject. Join me as I take you on a walk where I relax my mind and focus on the now.
