87: Right Now

Right now your life is passing you by. Many people simply take it for granted that there will be a tomorrow, while others understand there are no promises and every minute is priceless.
I started Christmas Eve day with this podcast playing as I caught up on some blogs. From the very outset you captured my attention again when you stated that most of us are rich and don’t even know it. Wow. Our whole society, it seems, is geared towards focusing on what we don’t have rather than on what we have; on always wanting or “needing” more and more; on constantly comparing ourselves with others. There is a kind of humility in your message that I find really appealing, an attitude that I believe is sorely lacking in our political and social discourse these days. I am reminded of Micah 6:8, “And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” In many ways, Tony, that verse sums up the thrust of many of your podcasts. Conceptually those are simple steps, but implementing those steps is a daily challenge for us all.

Mike, I pray each morning for God to please use me as he sees fit. For someone to see a slight reflection in my shows to what I strive for and don’t often achieve, to me, is a very high compliment. Thank you again, Mike. Merry Christmas to you.
